The couple found the perfect place in the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand, which had an added bonus of an avocado orchard as part of the package. After doing a bit of research, the young couple realised that adding avocado growing into their lives was a challenge that was too enticing to pass up.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It wasn\u2019t the first time that the Sorensen\u2019s had been inspired to take on an orchard as well as working full time. Sarah\u2019s father was also a kiwifruit grower, so the pair knew that it could be done.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>By day Sarah is also a project manager at New Zealand Avocado, so she can explore industry knowledge of how to care for the orchard to get the best possible avocado taste and quality. Lars is a harbour pilot with the port of Tauranga, which provides a change of scenery to the green trees of the orchard as he brings huge ships in and out of the port where many avocados are exported from.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Sorensen\u2019s have a busy schedule with working full-time, raising their boys and caring for their orchard \u2013 but say they couldn\u2019t have&nbsp;asked for anything more rewarding.<\/h6>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nzavocado.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/kids-1-1-684x540.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1508\"\/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-2-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A family of growers<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Bay of Plenty is a beautiful place in our corner of the world.
